THE BASIC FUNCTIONS OF VATA, PITA AND KAPHA

Vata governs bodily functions concerned with nerve function and movement, such as blood circulation, breathing, blinking and the beating of the heart.

Pitta governs bodily functions concerned with heat, metabolism, and energy production. These include digestion, absorption, and nutrition and body temperature.

Kapha governs bodily functions concerned with physical structure, stablity and fluid balance.

Pittas tend to be strong and well-built, with medium body frames, and moderate muscle development. They possess a keen intellect, enjoy challenges and make good public speakers. When pittas are in balance, they are focused, goal-oriented and make good leaders.

The following symptoms are indicated in pitta imbalance:

Rashes, skin inflammations
Digestive Problems
High Blood Pressure
Heartburn
Premature graying, baldness
Impatience , irritability
Visual problems
